Safe Patient Handling and Mobility — Reducing the risk through evidence-based interventions

Please join us for a comprehensive overview of safe patient handling and mobility (SPHM) practices, emphasizing the dual goals of enhancing patient outcomes and ensuring caregiver safety. We will identify risk factors that contribute to patient handling injuries, explore resources to help implement and maintain a safe patient handling and mobility (SPHM) program, and understand the interconnectedness between early mobility, SPHM, fall prevention, pressure injury prevention and improved patient outcomes.

Objectives:

  1. Identify risk factors for patient handling injuries.
  2. Identify resources to implement and sustain a safe patient handling and mobility program.
  3. Identify the relationship between early mobility, safe patient handling and mobility, fall prevention, pressure injury prevention and patient outcomes.
